A number will be appended to duplicated files

Modified on: Thu, 17 Nov, 2022 at 4:46 PM

Now, when uploading a file, if a file with the same name already exists in that specific directory, a number will be appended to the end of the file name.

Info! This feature is NOW available in version v4 series.

If you upload a file that has the same name as a file that already exists in that specific directory, a number will be appended to the end of the file name.  This will only occur when files are uploaded and the names are an exact match.

Renaming Files uploaded with Same Names

Let's say that a file name called "LifeInsurance" already exists (Figure 1) under Health folder, and new file with the same name is uploaded (Figure 2) to the same location. Then the new file will be renamed to LifeInsurance(1).

Figure 1: "LifeInsurance" file exist under Health subfolder

Figure 2: New file uploaded with the same name i.e. LifeInsurance is renamed to LifeInsurance(1)

To rename the file, right-click on the document and select Rename.
